Terms of service
The terms, in plain words.
Touchstone is an early, non-commercial prototype. By using it you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
What the service does
It reads the report you paste, fetches the public pages it cites, and compares each claim with a line on those pages. It then labels the claim: sourced, partial, unsupported or contradicted, with a few other outcomes when a check cannot be completed.
What it does not promise
- A verdict is not the truth. It says whether the cited page backs the claim, not whether the page itself is right.
- No warranty of accuracy. The checker can miss a line, misread a table, or fail to reach a page. Treat a label as a lead to verify, not a ruling.
- No availability promise. The prototype may be slow, limited, or down, and may change without notice.
Limits
Each check takes up to 25 cited claims and 8 distinct source links, and the service accepts up to 5 checks an hour per address. Only the first claims, in report order, are checked. These limits may change as the prototype does.
Acceptable use
- Do not paste private, confidential or personal data about other people.
- Do not use the service for anything unlawful, or to harass or mislead.
- Do not try to get around the rate limits, probe the host, or disrupt the service.
- Do not run bulk or automated checks against the website. Agents may use the MCP endpoint (touchstone.aynx.dev/mcp) within its published limits.
Your content
You keep whatever rights you have in the report you paste. You give the service permission to process that text and fetch the pages it cites for the sole purpose of returning a check. Only paste material you are allowed to send.
Third-party services
Checking uses a language model provider — currently Google Gemini’s free tier — and fetches pages published by others. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices, and the prototype cannot control them.
Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for losses arising from its use, including decisions made on the basis of a label. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes
These terms may change with the prototype. The date above is the date of the last change; continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
